I consider myself a ‘weaver of tales’.
Someone who crafts magical stories
and exists in the tension between realism and fiction
- the tangible and the intangible.
Like bridging between reality and imagination.
I write in English and I write in home-crafted sounds.
The English language is a beautiful language for poetry.
But sometimes it’s wonderful to let go of any immediate sense of meaning
and allow the sounds of the music to speak their own language.
I'm inspired by many different kinds of music,
and that may be why I tend to drift a bit between styles.
I like it when the music isn’t bound to any particular formula
— when each song is allowed to move in the direction it wants to go.
I am especially drawn to the enchanted when I write
— that hidden, magical world that reveals itself in glimpses.
Fantastic tales and poetry can, in a captivating way,
tell us something about real life, about the big questions.
Music can do the same. It can set the mood for any good story,
and it can follow us like a soundtrack to our own lives.
All of it wrapped in the wonderful narratives of the senses,
where the music moves across different expressions and styles
— a kind of musical storytelling.
"Whole worlds are hiding in this cage of melancholic beauty. Patiently waiting to reveal themselves.
To take us into their world, their story"
(fra “A Palace of Memory”, skrevet i 2012)
